Fra Elvis Unlimited:

The very successful re-prints of the two acetates Elvis made in 1953 and 1954 will be released next week
on yellow (Sun Records) vinyl.

There are only be made 300 copies of this soon to be rarity.

100 % reproductions of the two acetates, My Happiness/That’s When Your Heartaches Begin and It
Wouldn't Be The Same Without You/I'll Never Stand In Your Way. Elvis made the originals back in 1953
and 1954.

Both acetates are exactly like the original ones. For the first time ever these reproductions of both pre
fame Elvis Presley acetates be available in their originally form. Both are made on a 10” vinyl record that
will play at 45 rpm.

This is a one of a kind and unique chance to own an exact copy of two of the most historical records of
modern music. There will only be a limited amount of 300 copies of each record produced.

In August 1953 did a very young Elvis Presley walk into the local Memphis Recording Service. He paid $
4.00 to recorded two sides and get them home with him on a one of kind two sided acetate. The songs
were the two ballads My Happiness and That’s When Your Heartaches Begin.

Elvis probably hoped that Sam Phillips (the owner of Memphis Recording Service and the founder of the
local record label Sun Records) would pay attention to him and that he might get a chance on being
invited for a real recording session. Sam wasn’t there that day but Marion Keisker who at that time worked
for Sam did the recordings and noted that Elvis was a great ballad singer.

In early 1954 Elvis still haven’t heard from Sam so he decided to go back and pay another $ 4.00 to
record two more sides. This time did he record two more ballads titled It Wouldn’t Be The Same Without
You and I’ll Never Stand In Your Way.

Nearly the same happened again. In other words Marion was impressed and saved a copy for Sam, but
Sam wasn’t. It would take nearly another half year before Sam decided to call the young kid Elvis and
invite him in for a try-out and a possible recording session. The rest is history.

For the first time ever will a reproduction of both pre fame Elvis Presley acetates be available in their
originally form. Both are made on a 10” vinyl record that will play at 45 rpm. The labels are exactly like the
original primitive ones.

The first one My Happiness/That’s When Your Heartaches Begin was originally a white label with
typewriting on it. The fun thing is that a leftover of the Sun label from Prisonaires’ Softly And Tenderly
(Sun 189) single was flipped over so that the back was used. On the original acetate can you see that
thru the label.

Exactly the same is the case with the new reproduction. (maybe not easy to see in the picture, but it is
easy to see when you hold the record). The second one It Wouldn’t Be The Same Without You/I’ll Never
Stand In Your Way was originally made with a more professional label. This time did Marion used a pre-
printed Memphis Recording Service label. Again she used a typewriter to put the song titles and Elvis’
name on it.
