From the 7th to the 13th of June 2005 - The Screamin' Festival is held on the 10th and 11th.

El Toro Records proudly presents:

A wild week (or more) of Rock and Roll, live music, record hops, beach parties, barbeques, car shows,
action and the Screamin' Festival.

What is this event? Easy to explain - sun, beach and 50's Rock and Roll...The R&R Holidays and
Screamin' festival are here once more; a crazy, funny, wild week of record hops, live music, all kind of
parties and parties, parties, parties….

This event has been growing year by year with attendance by people from over 20 countries. This is not
just a weekender, this is not just a festival, this is not even just a holidays, this is a real R&R vacation!
Just imagine: you can enjoy beach, sun, pool or all that a touristic resort as Calella offers to its visitors

Screamin’ Tickets cost 25.00 Euro each day (Friday & Saturday) , you can either book them when
booking the R&R Holidays, book them separately or get them at the door each day of festival. That hall
is massive, so no worries about a sell-out. Come on down!

Auto show:
We will be organising an auto show. Bring your classic and custom car or bike, there will be prizes and
surprises for everyone bringing his car. If you don't have a car just come along and watch. For more info

Burlesque show!!
Miss Dolores de Muela and Miss Summer Peaches from Los Angeles will do their surprise burlesque
shows between bands.

Programs:
There will be a free program for everyone booking the R&R Holidays or coming to the festival. On it
you will find a full timetable on what's going on during this rockin' week; there are many other activities,
bands, Dj's, etc to be organised/ booked during the next few months. You will receive the program
when checking in at the hotel, however if you come by yourself you can pick it up at the hotel Continetal
or at BLAU MARI TRAVEL SERVICES. C. ESGLESIA, 241- Calella (two minutes from the train
station).
If you are a dealer and want to place an ad in the programs just get in touch with us.

Market place:
Featuring stalls for records, CD's, videos, 'zines, clothes... If you want to book a stall let us know it
ASAP.

Children:
We welcome children at the Screamin' Festival under the responsability of their parents, but not all of the
other parties, etc. that take place in clubs of the city that are the same. Almost all the hotels can help you
to get a babysitter.

Flyers:
Full colour brochures. The brochures / flyers to promote this event WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON,
they include a booking form and a big poster of the festival, if you want to receive them at home just
send us an email with your address, etc. If you can give them away in your area and help us to promote
the Screamin' just let us know how many do you want and where to ship them. Thank you very much

BANDS

JOE CLAY (USA) & THE CRACKERJACKS
A competent drummer by age 12, Joe learned guitar and bass by his mid-teens. By 17, he was signed to
RCA records, and recorded some of the most furious, out-of-control rockabilly blasts ever to remain
unreleased!
Out of 11 tracks recorded for RCA, the label only issued two singles. The first, "Sixteen Chicks"/"
Ducktail", featured the hypnotic guitar of Link Davis. For his second RCA session, Joe was whisked off
to New York where he was matched with an R&B combo fronted by none other than Mickey Baker!
The result was his second and final 45, "Cracker Jack"/"Get On The Right Track".
Despite RCA's unwillingness to promote the two releases, Joe somehow got booked on the Ed Sullivan
Show as support act for Nat King Cole! Slated to perform "Ducktail", Joe spooked the show's
producers with his over-the-top style, and ended up performing the relatively sedate Platters cover
"Only You" instead. The viewing public just wasn't ready for Joe's wild rockabilly madness!
48 years later (October of 2004) Joe has been back to the studio to cut lucky 13 of wild rockabilly
tracks backed by The El Toro Crackerjacks (the cream of rockabilly musicians), his show at Screamin'
festival will be very special because he will play his new songs for the first time in Europe, don't miss it!!

SID & BILLY KING (USA)
"The Youngest Band in the Land" (Billboard 1955)
Sid King and his band were often credited as being the first to create,record and play rockabilly music...
the first sounds of rock and roll (1952).
Sid King, one of rock and roll's true innovators, has influenced such great artists as Buddy Holly, Roy
Orbison and Johnny Carroll. Sid headlined shows with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Pat
Boone and many more.
They recorded for CBS Records and in 1956 were voted Billboard's Top Ranked Show Band. In the
50's they were billed as fresh and lively from Dallas, Texas.

Truly Lover Trio, from Los Angeles, has become one of the hottest upcoming bands in the area. Playing
not only LA but Southern California, Northern California and Arizona with great success. With their first

THE BARNSTOMPERS (NL)
The Barnstompers is a versatile band who was formed in September1991. The authentic music of The
Barnstompers is based on the late forties and early fifties traditional American Country-Boogie, Western-
Swing, Honky Tonk and
Rockabilly. The excellent combination of musicianship and vocals makes The Barnstompers an exciting
band . This "Swingbilly" band is definitely worthwhile seeing perform live. Their unique repertoire and
musical talents is what makes them different from many other bands.

LI'L RACHEL (USA)
Look out- this gal is not for the weak-hearted. They call her Li'l Rachel because of her petite stature, but
this little girl has one of the biggest voices you'll ever hear! Drawing influences from artists like Etta
James, Wynona Carr and Big Mama Thornton, her sexy, soulful brand of rock n' roll will knock you
over and then yank you back up on your dancing feet! You have seen her with the rockabilly duo, The
Casey Sisters, but this is her first European performance as a solo Rhythm & Blues queen. Li'l Rachel is
out to make a big impression, so you won't want to miss it!

THE GIN PALACE JESTERS (USA)
"Chicago's original honky-tonk fools," the Gin Palace Jesters are purveyors of the finest in hard hitting
hillbilly Honky-tonk, Country Boogie and Western Swing . Infused with a deep and sincere fondness for
all traditional American musical styles, the sound of the Gin Palace Jesters could best be described as
being akin to the sounds of Country Music's "Golden" age. Although a portion of their live performances
come from their vast catalogue of the Hillbilly & Country Hit Parade, these boys are not mere followers
or imitators. They also posses the talent of 3 songwriters performing original novelty numbers, heartfelt
love songs, honky-tonk weepers, drinking songs and dark ballads. Delivering 3 and 4 part country
harmony, the Gin Palace Jesters prove that authentic country and cowboy music can still hold validity in
both traditional songs as well as brand new originals. Garnishing help from the occasional fiddle player,
the Gin Palace Jesters are a true authentic American band often seen holding court where the thrones

IKE & THE CAPERS (D)
Ike And The capers are a German Rockabilly band who first appeared 1994 in Berlin. In 1998 they
toured the USA.They first appeared fall 1994 in a Jazz-Club in Berlin. After they went down well on
local shows they got invited to international stages. They played famous Rock and Roll weekenders and
festivals and they cut four albums in the last five years. From the beginning the line up did not change till
2002. Every now and then they add additional musicians on their albums.

SUE MORENO & THE FLAMING STARS (NL)
Sue and her Flaming Stars have the pureness, roughness, rebellion and yet romantic feel of the 40s and
50s music in their hearts which comes through in many songs they play, while other songs may have
modern touches or different beats. And don't forget those bluesy and jazzy songs Sue loves to sing! The
band plays, besides their own material, great songs by artists like Janis Martin, Elvis, Julie London and
Duke Ellington, just to name a few and show different styles.
Sue Moreno and the Flaming Stars can be found on national and international stages and on many Rock
'n Roll festivals.

RANDY RICH & THE POORBOYS (D)
After a break of 3 years the band now is back!
Founder and guitar player Randy lived and played in England and the US before he reunited his german
band Randy Rich and the Poor Boys, which originally was formed in 1997, in September 2003.
Altogether about 300 titles big with over 50 songs originals is the repertoire of Randy Rich and the Poor
Boys.
The trio toured 13 countries of Europe and 20 states of the US and made a big bunch of fans. Heights
are performances in Hemsby, England and Las Vegas, US. 1999 the first EP was published on Part
Records which was sold out inner one year. Different songs have also been published on many
compilations. And recently the first long player was issued on Rhythm Bomb Records.
On their gigs you will be impressed of the musicians` love to the music and the love to the detail. Original
instruments, microphones amplifiers and authentic clothes are the outfit of the trio. But the most
important thing is the music that is as lively as over 50 years ago! You can make yourself sure of it on
one of their shows. So don`t miss it!!

THE BALLROOM ROCKETS (D)
Authentic Roots Music from the fabulous fifties.
The Ballroom Rockets present a mixture of Rockabilly, Rock’n’Roll and Rhythm and Blues in the style
of the Bands of the early 50ies.
The Brothers Fabian (vocals and doublebass) and Christoph Rosmaity (guitar) and René Lieutenant
(drums) play bar, club and party music of a special kind: basic, rough and emotional.

BRIOLES (SP)
Los Brioles is one of the best spanish Rockabilly bands and they have been playing for years, touring all
along Spain,France and Germany too.
Their influences come from clasicals rockabillies like Johny Powers, Benny Joy or Rockin'R's and also
from hard sounds like Ramones and The Clash. However, they're specially influence by Batmobile, you
will notice it if you listen to them .
Their sound is really clear and the slapping bass is great. Perhaps they have been unknown because
many of their lyrics are in spanish so no one understands them out of their country, but their live
performances are incredible cool and shocking.
Moreover, they're very good musicians. Daniel makes everything you can imagine with the slap bass,
even in the smallers places.

PILELINE 61 (NL)
The band plays instrumental as well as vocal Rock and Roll-songs from the end of
the 50’s and early 60’s.
They play songs by Cliff and the Shadows, The Ventures, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, Gene Vincent
and Shane Fenton & the Fentones, but also some songs originally played by those great Dutch guitar-
groups from the sixties: René & his Alligators, ZZ & the Maskers and The Jumping Jewels.
The band did a lot of gigs in The Netherlands (Rockhouse-meeting, Teddy Boy festival Vlissingen, Int.
Cliff and Shadows-meeting, Sixties-festival in Midwoud) and also a lot of gigs abroad. They visited
England for the first time in November 1998. They played in: Great Yarmouth (Teddy boy festival),
New Market, London (Pipeline convention), Bournemouth, Skegness ( 2 times at the Richmond R ‘n’
R-weekender) and 2 times in Chippenham at the Eddie Cochran Rock ‘n’ Roll-festival.
Pipeline ‘ 61 issued a E.P. in 1998 and two C.D. ‘s, one in 2000 and one in 2003.
They have a perfect sound and their apperance is very authentic; they’ve got the clothes, the steps and
the original instruments and amps.

THE ROUND UP BOYS (D)
The Roundup Boys from Berlin are one of Germany's best live acts. The band was founded by singer
Michael Kirscht in the summer of 1996. They toured all over Europe in the past 7 years, and even won
the Hemsby talent contest in 1999. Now, finally, their first CD, recorded at the Lightnings Studio in
Berlin, is out on Rhythm Bomb label.

Accommodation:

We have reserved a block of rooms in several hotels just for you. Calella is not very big so all the hotels
we have are located near the Fabrica Llobet and the rest of clubs as well as close to the beach.
There are different kinds of hotels that you can choose to spend your holidays. Payment must be done in
advance. The number of available rooms is limited so be quick. Book now.
This is not a strict residential event, that means that you can come by yourself and enjoy the party for
which passes will be available each day at the door. But booking the R&R Holidays you get free access
to all the parties and live shows, etc, that take place during the week, the Screamin' Festival is not
included. The R&R Holidays are from the 7th to the 13th of June, both nights included, you can arrive
earlier or leave later if you want, there will be live shows, record hops, parties, etc, each day of this
amazing week, even some pre party is being organised for the ones arriving earlier.

How does it work?
You submit your booking form, or send your booking details by email or fax or phone us.
We check for availability in the hotels of the category of your choice.
We confirm availability and give you a confirmation number, address of your hotel, etc
You pay your booking including the festival tickets.
That’s it! When you arrive to Calella you go straight to your hotel and when checking it you’re giving a
program which includes a city map with the location of all the interesting places plus the entertainment
passes and festival tickets.

Hotels & prices:

Prices per person, for two persons in a double room.
Minimum booking 2 days.

Medium category, two stars.
Swimming pool
Breakfast and dinner included with the price.
All the rooms with bathroom
Price each night: 23.75€

Higher category, three stars.
Swimming pool, parabolic, air conditioned, parking (in many cases), buffet breakfast and buffet dinner
included. Rooms with big bathroom.
Price each night: 28.75€

Luxury, four stars.
The word says it all!!... The best hotels in town!!
Buffet breakfast and buffet dinner included.
Price each night: 35.00€

*Kids under 2 don't pay for the hotel if they stay in a room with two adults, kids up to 10 pay 50%,
under 18 don't pay at the Screamin' Festival.. We can put up to 4 people per room. *Single rooms have
supplement of € 12.50 for two and three stars and € 16.50 for fours stars.

*Example of booking:

Two people,7 nights in the three star hotel, will pay 2

2 (pers.) x 7 (nights) x € 28.75 = € 402.50 + € 100.00 (Screamin’s tickets x 2 ) = € 502.50

The Festival tickets must be payed when booking the hotel room.

Late bookings: Do not send bookings after the 30th of May, after this date bookings must be made on
arrival and subject to availability.
